Joint Union-Employer Committees are established at the Headquarters/Branch level and at the Regional/Regional Coordinator level to consult on areas of concern to the Union and the Employer.
Mental Health Working Group

The National Working Group on Mental Health was established to focus on continuous improvement and the successful implementation of measures to improve mental health in the workplace. The working group provides recommendations to the Employer and the CULE Executive.

The Joint Employment Equity Committee (JEEC) was established by agreement of the Alliance Executive Committee on behalf of the PSAC and the staff unions, AEU, UES and CULE (the principals). The work of this Committee is governed by the Statement of Equity, signed on February 10th, 1995 by all the parties together with the respective collective agreements.
The Committee works with the Senior Human Resources Advisor, responsible for employment equity and the Human Resources Section on the implementation of the PSAC Employment Equity Plan.
The Committee has overall responsibility for the development and the implementation of the PSAC Employment Equity Plan and is composed of representatives from labour and management.

The PSAC Joint Occupational Safety and Health Committee (JOSH) work together and meet regularly to discuss health and safety concerns. Committee representatives are responsible for receiving, considering and disposing of complaints relating to the safety and health of workers. JOSH members conduct inspections and accident investigations and make recommendations for the improvement of the health and safety of employees.

The Joint Pay Equity Committee exists to develop, implement and monitor pay equity and was established based on both parties commitment to pay equity.
The committee meets at the request of either party for the purposes of establishing and maintaining pay equity within the Alliance Family.

The Joint Standing Staffing Committee will meet on an ad-hoc basis to examine staffing matters that are referred to it by either the Employer or the Union Executive.

The role of the Standing Employee Training Committee is to examine staff training requirements and employee training planning when items are referred to the committee by the Union Executive or the Employer.

The purpose of the Trans and Gender-Variant Inclusion Working Group includes assessing the workplace for barriers to trans and gender-variant inclusion and recommending activities and training to remove stereo-typing and gender assumptions.
