Internal Committees

For each round of negotiations, and not later than six (6) months prior to the expiration of the collective agreement, the Executive shall establish the composition of the Negotiating Team.

The members of the Negotiating Team shall be members of CULE-UCES in good standing and elected by the members of their respective bargaining unit.

The Executive may appoint the President as a member of the negotiating team.

As an initiative that began in 2004, the CULE Solidarity Fund and the CULE Solidarity Committee has as its mandate to help reduce poverty and social injustice in many parts of the world. To this end the CULE Solidarity Committee provides support and funding to initiatives which develop linkages to other worker and labour organizations in other countries, better the quality of life of majority world workers, and assists children of CULE members to participate in solidarity initiatives at home and abroad*.

Anti-Racism Committee

Executive Committee

The Standing Equity Committee consisting of at least one member from each of the following equity groups: Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender, workers of colour, Aboriginal, Inuit, and Métis, persons with disabilities and women. The Standing Equity Committee shall act as an advisory group to the Equity Director, and is mandated by the CULE Constitution (EN / FR)

The anti-racism committee was mandated by the CULE membership in September 2020.  The committee works to identify and raise awareness around issues related to systemic and institutional racism, and to provide feedback on how we can create and maintain an anti-racist workplace.

Technological Change Committee

Convention Committee

The Grievance Committee reviews all grievances and makes recommendations to the Executive as per the adopted CULE-UCES Grievance Procedure and is mandated by the CULE Constitution (EN / FR).

Website Committee

In recent years CULE members have been affected by technological changes in the workplace.  The committee's role is to review recent technological changes and make recommendations to the CULE executive.

The Convention Committee assists with various aspects of the planning and implementation of CULE Conventions in accordance with the CULE Constitution.

The role of the Website Committee is to maintain and update the CULE website, with oversight from the CULE President.
